Creep Cool
Dreamy,
dusty and as cool as the Milky Way. The Lost Patrol is the latest project
of Danielle Kimak Stauss, the vocalist behind Afterglow. Stauss sings
and plays guitars and keyboards for The Lost Patrol, joined by Stephen
Masucci on guitars, bass, keyboards, drums and the essential Moog Modular,
for sonic weirdness.
Stauss'
vocals recall Bjork and Siouxsie Sioux, set against a backdrop of space-age
lounge, ambient fuzz and Euro pop.
The
duo also creates evocative instrumentals, with a nod to Ennio Morricone
and The Ventures. The Lost Patrol play tonight at The Saint
601 Main St., Asbury Park. Admission is $8. Also on the bill are Girl
Lush Figure and Well Baby. For show time, call (732) 775-9144 or go to
www.thesaintnj.com. For info on The Lost Patrol's current CD, "Creepy
Cool," or the upcoming disc, "Scattered, Smothered and Covered", go to
